Lady Roadrunners extend winning streak to three games

Union, Mo.- The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners women's soccer secured a 6-0 win over East Central College on Saturday, Sept. 27.
SFCC (6-3, 1-0 in Region 16) rode the momentum of five first half goals to secure the victory in the Region 16 opener for SFCC.
Sophomore forward Ella Smith scored a pair of goals in the game to go along with an assist. Freshman winger Brenda Aguilar also scored twice. Freshman defender Ximena Palacios also added a goal on a penalty kick.
The Lady Roadrunners added the final goal of the contest courtesy of a goal from a free kick from freshman goalkeeper Valeria Morales.
Freshman midfielder Idali Nava, freshman midfielder Melanie Aguirre, and freshman midfielder Sabrina Meloy contributed one assist each.
Morales and freshman goalkeeper Zoe Kleththermes combined to earn the shutout in goal.
The Lady Roadrunners will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in another Region 16 match against Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
