Lady Roadrunners defeat Crowder
Sedalia, Mo.-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) women’s soccer team defeated Crowder College 7-2 on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the Smith-Cotton Soccer Field in Sedalia.

Sedalia, Mo.-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) women's soccer team defeated Crowder College 7-2 on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the Smith-Cotton Soccer Field in Sedalia.
The Lady Roadrunners (4-3) offense exploded in the opening half. SFCC led 4-1 at halftime. SFCC outscored Crowder 3-1 in the second half.
Sophomore forward Ella Smith led the goal scoring barrage for SFCC with a four-goal afternoon. Freshman winger Brenda Aguilar added a pair of goals in the contest. Freshman defender Ximena Palacios also scored a goal.
Freshman midfielder Melanie Aguirre had a pair of assists in the game. Aguilar also pitched in with a pair of assists in the contest. Palacios registered an assist along with Smith and freshman winger Nevaeh Conklin.
Freshman goalkeeper Valeria Morales got the start and the victory in goal for SFCC.
"We have been working hard in practice," associate head coach Roberto Tucker said. "We need to make sure we apply what we've been working on in practice. We also placed a lot of emphasis on the way we were defending in preparation for the game."
SFCC will return to action on Saturday with a match against Jefferson College at Smith Cotton High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
