Lady Roadrunners continue winning streak
Lincoln, Neb.-The 16th ranked State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners women’s basketball team picked up a 68-55 win at Southeast Community College on Tuesday, Dec. 2 in Lincoln, Neb.
Lincoln, Neb.-The 16th ranked State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners women's basketball team picked up a 68-55 win at Southeast Community College on Tuesday, Dec. 2 in Lincoln, Neb. The victory was the 13th win in a row for SFCC.
The Lady Roadrunners (13-0) jumped out to a 21-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. SFCC led 41-30 at halftime. The Lady Roadrunners pushed the advantage to 60-41 at the end of three quarters. Southeast refused to go away. However, SFCC hung on to a double-digit lead to preserve the road victory.
The Lady Roadrunners had five players who scored in double figures in the contest. Sophomore guard Zoe Newland of St. Louis, Mo. led the team in scoring with 14 points. Sophomore guard Sophia Edwin of Killeen, Texas contributed 13 points, a team-high eight assists and a team-high three steals. Sophomore forward Ellie Buscher of St. Louis, Mo. registered a double-double with 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Kamaree Pollard of Mt. Vernon, Ill. also had 12 points. Sophomore guard/forward Carolyn Foster of O'Fallon, Ill, added 10 points.
SFCC will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 13 with a game at Lewis & Clark Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
