Clausing leads Lady Roadrunners at Brian T. Simpson Invitational
Columbia, Mo.-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners women’s cross country team placed 11th in the Brian T. Simpson Invitational hosted by the University of Central Missouri in Columbia, Mo. at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course on Saturday, Oct.11.

Freshman Maryn Clausing of Peculiar, Mo. recorded the best finish for the Lady Roadrunners. Clausing covered the 5K course in a time of 21:02.17 to finish 43rd. Freshman Libbey Baadsgaard of Springfield, Mo. posted a time of 22:22.35 to place 72nd. Freshman Tajel McDaniel of Belle, Mo. contributed a time of 22:28.52 to finish 78th. Sophomore Alexis Riddle of Independence, Mo. clocked in with a time of 22:41.73 to place 81st. Freshman Alexa McCartney of Clinton, Mo. added a time of 25:30.82 to finish 101st.
"The women competed well," said co-head coach Kellin Loch. "There were no official PRs, but again, I think everyone's times saw improvement when we factor in a little extra distance. This is all on back-to-back weekends of racing and no let-up in training throughout the week. The team is demonstrating their grit and impressing me each time they toe the line."
The Lady Roadrunners will return to action on Friday, Oct.24 at the Region 16 Cross Country Championships.
