Lady Roadrunners fall at East Central
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners softball team dropped a pair of games at East Central College on Sunday, April 12 in Union, Mo.

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners softball team dropped a pair of games at East Central College on Sunday, April 12 in Union, Mo. SFCC (17-22) fell in the first game 11-3 in five innings because of the run rule. The Lady Roadrunners drop a close game in game two 7-6.
In game one, freshman outfielder Madelyn Backes of Bonnots Mill had a pair of hits including a home run, two RBIs, and run scored. Sophomore first baseman/outfielder Courtney Dehn of Dearborn also had a pair of hits and a run scored. Sophomore utility player Jenna Herald of Monett and freshman utility player Jaden Mauzey of Mendon recorded a double each.
Freshman pitcher Corinne Tuck of Braymer pitched got the start in the circle for SFCC. Tuck pitched 5 2/3 innings, gave up 11 runs, (eight earned runs), on 10 hits, struck out six and walked three.
In game two, Backes continued to swing the bat well. Backes two more home runs to go along with four RBIs, three runs scored. Mauzey added two more hits, including a double. Freshman pitcher Addison Wallace of Carthage contributed a double. As a team, SFCC put together seven hits.
Sophomore pitcher/second baseman Elana Clark of Maysville got the start in the circle for SFCC. Clark pitched five innings, gave up seven runs (four earned runs) on nine hits, struck out two and walked three. Wallace came out of the bullpen to pitch one inning, struck out two and walked one.
SFCC will return to action on Tuesday, April 14 for a Region 16 doubleheader at Metropolitan Community College. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 2 p.m.
