Roadrunners compete at Illinois College Hilltop Classic
.The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners track and field team closed out their regular season indoor schedule at the Illinois College Hilltop Classic inside King Fieldhouse on Friday, Feb. 20 in Jacksonville, Ill.
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners track and field team closed out their regular season indoor schedule at the Illinois College Hilltop Classic inside King Fieldhouse on Friday, Feb. 20 in Jacksonville, Ill.
The Roadrunners came home with six top eight finishes from the event. Freshman Colby Jenkins of Brunswick, Mo. captured the event title in the high jump with a jump of 1.93 meters.
Sophomore Zeshaun Ballance-Gray of Kansas City, Mo. finished third in the long jump with a jump of 6.55 meters.
Freshman Cash Anderson of Kansas City, Missouri finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.71.
Freshman Gage Marshall of Middletown, Mo. finished tied for fifth place in the high jump with a jump of 1.83 meters.
Freshman TJ Brown of Independence, Mo. finished eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.26. Sophomore Steven Skelton of Waynesville, Mo. finished eighth in the long jump with a jump of 5.95 meters.
"We wrapped up our Indoor regular season with a bang" said head coach Brad Hagedorn. "We took the last two weeks to rest and to train to be able to really show out for this meet. Our kids proved that they were ready for the task. We had a ton of Personal and Season bests highlighted by Colby's win in the high jump. Monday, we find out the final standings to see whom we have qualified for the Indoor National Championships the first weekend of March."
SFCC will return to action at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on Friday, March 6.
