Maryville, Mo.-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners men's track and field team brought home a pair of top eight finishes from the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic hosted by Northwest Missouri State University on Saturday, Dec. 6 inside the Carl and Cheryl Hughes Fieldhouse in Maryville, Mo.
Sophomore Zeshaun Ballance-Gray of Kansas City, Mo placed second in the triple jump with a jump of 14.24 meters. Freshman Marcel Milner of Riverside, Mo. placed third in the triple jump with a jump of 13.56 meters.
"Northwest provided a good opportunity for our athletes to knock off some rust and work thru some jitters," said head coach Brad Hagedorn. "The facility was packed with good competition, and we were up for the task. It gave our staff a chance to see where we were at in our training. Moving forward, we identified some areas for improvement and know where we need to adjust for the bulk of our season starting after Christmas. Zeshaun Ballance picked up where he left off last season with an extremely nice series and placed second in the triple jump."
SFCC will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 10 at the SEMO Redhawks Invite in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
