Roadrunners run rule Moberly
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team put together 20 runs on 17 hits to defeat Moberly Area Community College 20-8 in five innings because of the run rule on Tuesday, April 14 in Moberly, Mo.
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team put together 20 runs on 17 hits to defeat Moberly Area Community College 20-8 in five innings because of the run rule on Tuesday, April 14 in Moberly, Mo.
SFCC (21-24) scored multiple runs in every inning. Outfielder Devin Wassmann of Platte City, Mo. had four hits, including a double and two home runs. Wassmann recorded six RBIs and scored five times. Infielder Connor Rice of Sedalia, Mo. also had four hits, including a double and a home run. Rice drove in six runs and scored five times. Middle infielder Dayton Doll of Platte County, Mo., contributed three hits including a double. Doll drove in three runs and scored once. Corner infielder Andrew Hill of Columbia, Mo. added a pair of hits and scored four runs. Outfielder Drake Odneal of Smithville, Mo. pitched in with a pair of doubles, a run scored, and two RBIs. Every player in the starting lineup scored a run in the game.
Pitcher Mason Morris of Unionville, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Morris pitched 1 2/3 innings, gave up five runs, (four earned runs), on four hits, struck out one, and walked four.
SFCC will return to action on Thursday, April 16 with a Region 16 doubleheader at home against Jefferson College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
