Sedalia, Mo- The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team split a second Region 16 doubleheader in as many days with Three Rivers College on Sunday, March 8 at Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field.

Sedalia, Mo- The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team split a second Region 16 doubleheader in as many days with Three Rivers College on Sunday, March 8 at Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field. SFCC (9-11, 4-4 in Region 16) won the opening game of the doubleheader 14-6 before falling in the nightcap 15-14.
In game one, outfielder Collin Ross of Branson, Mo. had four hits including a home run, four runs scored, and four RBIs. Catcher Carter Rice of Sedalia, Mo. also produced four hits including a home run, and four RBIs. Catcher Albert Salguera of Caracas, Venezuela contributed two hits including a home run and three run scored. Outfielder Devin Wassmann of Platte City, Mo. also hit a home run in the game. Middle infielder Christian Kuchta of Liberty, Mo. drove in a pair of runs. Corner infielder Andrew Hill of Columbia, Mo. scored three runs. As a team, the SFCC offense totaled 12 hits.
Pitcher Tanner Patterson of Iberia, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Patterson pitched six innings, gave up six runs (three earned runs) on seven hits, struck out nine, and walked three. Patterson earned the victory on the mound.
In game two, Wassmann had five hits including a home run and two doubles. Wassmann drove in six runs and scored one. Kuchta added three hits including a double, scored four times, and drove in a pair of runs. Utility player Malachi Antle of Licking, Mo. had three hits including a double and three runs scored. Utility player Casen Lett of Parkville, Mo. hit a home run, scored twice. and drove in a pair of runs. Hill scored a pair of runs. SFCC had 13 hits in the game.
Pitcher Evan Bishop of Boonville, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC.
SFCC will return to action on Monday, March 9 with a single game against Northeast Iowa Community College. First pitch from Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
