Pannier will continue service with NJCAA

State Fair Community College (SFCC) Athletic Director Darren Pannier will continue to serve as chair of the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee, a position that he has held for 15 years.

Pannier and fellow committee members conduct weekly poll calls to determine national rankings throughout the season. The committee also selects the eight at-large qualifiers for the national tournament and determines tournament seeding. As chair, Pannier also helps manage operations during the event.

"I will do anything at the National Tournament that helps to better the experience of the student-athletes at the National Tournament," said Pannier. "I want to help provide the best experience I can for the young ladies who advance to the national tournament. I have been very blessed to serve in this position. I loved coaching women's basketball but got out of it to have time to watch my kids participate in high school athletics. This position has given me the opportunity to still be involved with the game."

Before becoming chair, Pannier served as vice chair and was previously a committee member.

"We are very proud of the leadership that Coach Pannier has continued to provide for the NJCAA on the national level, as well as the leadership that he provides to our athletic department," said SFCC President Dr. Brent Bates.
